School Caretaker Sheffield £15.00 - £16.00 per hour Start date: September 2026 Contract type: Temp - perm following 12 weeks successful temporary placement  Working hours: Monday – Friday, 6am-2pm   Unique School Solutions are supporting a primary school in Sheffield to appoint a School Caretaker. The role will involve being responsible for unlocking and locking up the school, carrying out weekly fire alarm tests and keeping on top of other Health & Safety tests such as Legionella water testing. You will also be responsible for carrying out any general maintenance tasks around school, including DIT, gardening and cleaning where required. The role is to start in September 2026 and for the right person could lead to a permanent job after 12 weeks.   About the school:

Essential requirements for the role:
  • Previous DIY and maintenance skills
  • Good Health & Safety awareness
  • A flexible attitude and ability to adapt in a quick paced environment
  • Experience of locking and unlocking buildings and setting alarms
  • Previous experience of working in a school setting is desirable
  • The ability to work under direction as well as using own initiative

Facilities Manager Sheffield Start date: September 2026 Contract type: Permanent or Temp - Perm following 12 weeks successful temporary placement  Working hours: Flexible   Unique School Solutions are supporting a school in Sheffield, who are needing to appoint a Facilities Manager from September 2026. Your role will be to lead, manage, and develop the premises, health and safety, and cleaning operations across a cluster of school sites. The post holder will ensure all locations provide safe, clean, compliant, and highly functional learning environments while directly line-managing site-based teams and external contractors. The role is to start in September and will either be a permanent position or a temp to perm after a 12 week period.   About the school:

Essential requirements for the role:
  • Proven experience managing facilities, estates, or operations across multiple physical sites
  • A recognized Health & Safety qualification, such as IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Multi-site team leadership experience including line management, rota & cover management and training & development
  • Health, Safety & Statutory Compliance experience including statutory testing, risk assessments and audit readiness
  • Maintenance & capital works experience including planned & reactive maintenance, contractor management and site security
  • Cleaning operations & hygiene experience including standards enforcement and stock & equipment control
  • Financial & environmental sustainability experience including budget management and energy management
  • Full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle
