Unique School Solutions are supporting a warm and welcoming special needs school in Rotherham
to recruit for an experienced and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to support children with
SEMH needs within their specialist provision for children aged 10-18 years.
This school provides bespoke educational opportunities students with a range of social, emotional
and mental health needs.
The role will be working within the classroom under the direction of the teacher supporting students
with complex behaviours. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children with complex
behaviour needs and additional needs such as Autism, ADHD and PDA.

Essential requirements for the role:

• Previous experience working within a school (mainstream or special) or childrens residential
  environment.
• Experience supporting children with SEMH
• The ability to build rapport with young learners
•  The ability to remain calm in sometimes challenging behavioural situations
•  The ability to work under the direction of the class teacher as well as using own initiative
•  The ability to support SEND children with complex behavioural needs on a 1:1 basis
