SEND Teaching Assistant

Unique School Solutions are supporting a school in Sheffield, who are needing to appoint SEND Teaching Assistants for some new sites that are opening in September. Working within the classroom under the direction of the teacher, you will be supporting students across Key Stages 2,3 and 4. The role is to start in September and will either be a permanent position or a temp to perm after a 12 week period.

Essential requirements for the role:

– Teaching Assistant qualification beneficial but not essential.

– Previous experience working with children/young adults for at least 3 months in the last 2 years. This doesn’t have to be in a school.

– The ability to build rapport with learners from a diverse background and with a range of needs.

– The ability to work under the direction of the class teacher as well as using own initiative.

– Experience with Phonics is advantageous.
