Unique School Solutions are working in partnership with a primary school in Sheffield (S8) to recruit a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to start in September 2024. This role is full-time, term time only.

Initially, the roles will be temporary through Unique School Solutions with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract following a successful probation period.

School interviews will be held w/c 24th June.

The role

  • To complement the professional work of Teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under the agreed system of supervision.
  • Planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/ group or short-term for whole classes.
  • Monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupils’ achievement, progress and development.
  • Assess the need of pupils and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support pupils’ learning.
  • Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom.
  • Support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs.
  • Encourage pupils to interact and work cooperatively with others and engage all pupils in activities.
  • Promote independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement and self-reliance.

The candidate will have

  • GCSE Maths & English at grade C (or equivalent).
  • Recent experience working as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant within a primary school.
  • Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or higher qualification (or equivalent).
  • Training in relevant learning strategies e.g literacy or particular curriculum or learning need.
  • Good understanding of child development and learning processes.
  • A pragmatic ‘can do’ approach to tasks.
